Vietnam Bridge Collapsed!

(AP Photo/Vietnam News Agency, Vuong Thoai Trung) Wednesday, September 26, 2007 the under construction bridge in Can Tho, Vietnam collapsed killing at least 50 construction workers and more are still missing leaving many injured. There was said to be about 150 workers on top of the bridge and 100 underneath the bridge. The bridge began construction sometime in 2004 and was predicted to be done next year. Its purpose was to link the Mekong River to Ho Chi Minh City . If it was to be finished the bridge would speed up the process of traveling across the river that many are making by ferry. The cause of the collapse is still being investigated. Furthermore reports that Japan provided more than $218 million ($25 billion yen) loan to the project and the rest was paid the Vietnamese government. REUTERS /Truong Cong Kha I hope that the death toll doesn’t go up, but there seem to be people still trapped under the bridge. Even though the cause is unkn

Nguyen Khang's Interview with Radio VNCR

In a redo video interview with Vietnam Radio VNCR 106.3 FM in California, singer Nguyen Khang let out to Hoang Trong Thuy that used to work in a nail salon for quick cash because it was a job that makes a lot of money. So after he came to the U.S. in 1994, he started working to support the family since he was the oldest in the family and so he went into nails. Also we learned from the interview that he is a very close friend with singer and actress Diem Lien . And lastly to clear up all the rumors and misconception, which I was once thought to be true is the fact that Nguyen Khang is not Tuan Ngoc ’s son. Although they sound alike and might look alike, they are not related. Nguyen Khang said he looks up to Tuan Ngoc like an idol and Tuan Ngoc was his inspiration and nothing more. Watch the video

Happy Belated Birthday Nhu Quynh!

I haven’t post much in the last couple of days due to the fact that I was busy with school and also I was into watching Korean drama. Haha. I know. I’m sorry, but also it’s hard to find things to report or write about as well. Well, one of the news that I missed out on was that it was Nhu Quynh ’s birthday on September 9. Happy belated birthday! One thing though that I want to say is that I'm quite concern for Nhu Quynh based on the pictures above, because she looks really tired and just not healthy looking. I hope she is doing alright. PBN 89 Review

Paris By Night 89 in Korea was very anticipated but when I was finished watching it, all I can say was that it was okay. PBN 89 didn’t wow me but it was just all right. First off I want to say that I enjoy watching the clips of documentary. Those were touching to watch and to know about especially that one story about the captain of a ship who made a decision to save the boat people. Also it was great to hear about the connection between Vietnam and Korea when they introduced the one guy who was the 31st generation of King Ly’s family. And on to something else less of importance but the stage design and background area where MCs Nguyen Ngoc Ngan and Nguyen Cao Ky Duyen stood was very nice looking, reflected somewhat of the middle east. Also Ky Duyen looks very pretty and I like her many dresses. Minh Tuyet opened the show with Typhoon and set the stage for more to come. I was pretty excited to see what’s up next. So without knowing that Trinh Lam was up next I thought it was

Re: Việt Weekly

You probably heard about the protesting against Việt Weekly . It was a big story and is still going on with people talking about the incident. The magazine creator had to sell their magazines on the street for a cheap price since Vietnamese community in California ran them out of business. Apparently Viet Weekly was seemed to have flavor communism and communist in Vietnam. The reason I’m writing something about this because I keep coming across articles about allegations and accusations about the matter. As you know Trinh Hoi was in trouble again with the community by “writing an op-ed piece to the BBC to denounce the hypocrisy of those opposing Viet Weekly ” ( VSB , VW 5-25 ). I don’t want to say too much on how I feel about the whole thing. I just feel that a person like Trinh Hoi who have done so much and fighting for refuges is seen as a traitor. Some people feel sad for him and some said that he knows well enough what would come of his “bad” decision. What kind of a bad de

Be Xuan Mai’s All Grown Up!

http://www.bexuanmai.net.ms/ Since bé Xuân Mai started to become well known in a variety of kids’ music videos, people have been questioning her parents for purposely training her for the entertainment business instead of trying to give her the most “normal” childhood. Critics feel that at such a young age, Xuân Mai is all knowledge about what to say and do in front of audiences and how to pose for the camera. It seems that her parents are all about selling their daughter to make money. As harsh as it sounds, her parents are not ashamed at the way they trained their daughter for the entertainment business when asked. After being a popular child sensation in Vietnam though numerous of music videos for kids, Xuân Mai was introduced on Thuy Nga Paris by Night . The cute, knowledgeable, respectable, and talented Xuan Mai sweep audiences away. Xuân Mai began to grow and continued to do shows and as well as appear on production videos. Now at an older age, Xuân Mai, 12, poses for the

Đàm Vĩnh Hưng’s Son?

I came across this picture in an online forum where the author said this is Dam Vinh Hung ’s son. But many seems to doubt the fact because they didn’t even know he got marry or who his wife is. Some even mentioned about the rumor that Dam Vinh Hung is courting My Tam . From the picture and the resembling it could be his son, but still there are no evident. This could well be his younger brother or someone in his family. What are your thoughts?
