Nhu Quynh Butchered Yet Another Song

Image taken from nqstarlight.com

Nhu Quynh did it again, this time butchering the song “Vang Trang Khoc” by Nhat Tinh Anh and Khanh Ngoc. Although Nhu Quynh is a great singer, she should stick to her own genre of music, which is traditional Vietnamese folk song. Her rendition of "Vang Trang Khoc" with singer Ky Anh was unbearable. The two singers appeared very unnatural singing that it showed on their facial expression as well as in their voice.

This is not the first time that NQ took on a song that doesn’t fit her. I remembered way back when she sang “Tinh Co,” which was made famous by Phuong Thanh. Oh God. And then she sang “Mot Lan Nua Thoi,” originally by Lam Nhat Tien. I don’t hate NQ or anything but she needs to stick to her own type of music, where she sounds best. This goes to every singer, because there is a reason why they have different genre of music.

Nhu Quynh was very good when she started Asia, singing “Nguoi Tinh Mua Dong.” Her performance was very natural and relaxing, but the more she got famous the more she became over the top when she sings. And besides her voice that change, her appearance as well with all the surgery she did.Check it out below and judge for yourself.

P.S. Play close attentions to NQ’s mouth when she sings… and the storyline in the music video is very unoriginal.

Um, I never heard the original singers for this song, but I didn't think NQ did a bad job at all. According the blog, I'd say that the criticism is more towards the music video. Anyway, if there's any fault, maybe NQ's fault is that she hasn't had that song that's "the one" that makes it solely her... like nguoi tinh mua dong or her past works with Asia. Maybe she should hire a songwriter or something. Do how American artists do and write your own songs and trademark it. Yeesh, I'm sick to my head of hearing recycled songs from one artist to the next.

NQ is still hot as ever. This video became one of the numbers top sale at my music store.

She’s wonderful at transforming her image. I am glad she can prove that she can do anything.

Well, she tried. Music artists are supposed to experiment, anyway...but I agree with you. Both Nhu Quynh and Ky Anh's singing look a bit forced. Nhu Quynh definitely seems much more at ease singing a traditional song. The video at times even becomes awkward.

Then again, we might be highly biased. Perhaps we like the original Vang Trang Khoc so much that anything deviating from it seems abominable.

the comments here are great... i'm also her fan... but i hate watching her after the first two hits... i hope ms quynh nhu somehow sees these blogs... because everyone i know whether her fan or not kept saying one thing "no' die.u qua'" qn... u are one of the most beautiful singer... look at yourself in the older videos when u didn't have this type of make ups on your face... u looked hot... now... i can not watch u!!! i also know she's a hard working entertainer... but i assume that after all these years in the USA... she'd shed off the fobbiness... her good friends should tell her the truth... as for the video... the guy was such a bad actor but then again he is singer not an actor and qn is dramatic as ever... i had to go for a cig after watching her... the video director did an excellent job tho... that's all...

I agree. This song is not for Nhu Quynh. Her beautiful voice was meant for something else.

Great comments, i had the same thought about NQ changing her image when she came to Paris by Night. She would have been much better if she had stayed with ASia, they had song writers like Truc' sinh, Truc' Ho that wrote wrong great songs that fit her style and talent. At Paris by Night she has to sing other people song and she declined from there. However, i hate it when people tried to bash her about being conceited and all that. I just saw her at a viet concert and i once again fell in love with her. She looks beautiful and humble..I love the way she dance with her ao dai singing "van` Trang khoc"... she still as beautiful as ever... i love you Nhu* quynh...
