Major Vietnamese Video Production in the USA

One of the earliest, most well known and respected video production show is Paris By Night created by Thuy Nga, therefore the show is often referred to as Thuy Nga Paris By Night . The first taped production of PBN was done without a live audience and had few singers. The show was just a short one-tape music video with few singers singing to a plain designed background. The show didn’t cost as much as it is now. It didn’t have special lighting or creativity of arrangements done to the stage. As a matter of fact, the show creator didn’t even dare to label the video as their first production because they didn’t know if there was going to be a second. The first time I watched PBN was in 1994 when tape number nine came out. The show releases about two videos a year, so probably around 1990 when they had their first tape or even earlier. You do the math. I believed the first PBN video was taped in Paris, and that was how the show got its name, even after they no longer shot in Paris. PBN sh

Time 2 Sing Along: Vầng Trăng Khóc

AZN Asian Excellence Awards 2007

Premiered on AZN Television , Monday, May 28, 2007 @ 8pm ET/PT. Daniel Dae Kim of Lost and Grace Park of Battlestar Galactica hosted the award show. “Many Asian and Asian American were honored for their achievement in entertainment, sports, the arts and other disciplines that have had a profound impact on American culture.” AZN Asian Excellence Awards isn’t as big or glamorous or well known as other American award shows you seen, but AEA stood for something significant and meaningful in the Asian community because it recognizes the excellence and achievement of Asian and Asian American. It has become a positive and supportive figure to all Asians to continue their involvement to whatever that they do. I watched and liked the show. I thought it was good, but just too short (1hr and a half). I believe in the future the show will expand. My favorite parts of the show were the comedians, Margaret Cho, Dat Phan, and Russell Peters . Also like the hosts, Daniel & Grace, both are good

Time 2 Sing Along: Phi Nhung - Cánh Hoa Rừng

Download the song *Please report any broken links [updated 3/29/11] Lyric Ngày nào bên nhau anh đã trao cánh hoa yêu Đôi ta hẹn nhau sẽ chung mối duyên Nay anh đã quên em tìm cánh hoa phương trời nào Tim em nghe xót xa nỗi đau âm thầm từng chiều. Em nhớ anh em ngồi đếm sao mơ theo dấu chân anh Anh có hay chốn đây bao chiều đợi chờ Năm tháng ơi xin đừng xóa đi bao nhiêu dấu chân xưa Mưa gió ơi hãy thôi đem lạnh lùng về. ĐK: Con dốc cao lưng đèo vắng anh nên con dốc thêm cao Con suối kia vắng anh không còn rộn ràng Em nhớ anh bao chiều mắt em trông theo cách chim bay Anh chốn nao biết chăng một người đời chờ. Gọi thầm tên anh đêm vắng sao quá cô đơn Em xin trời cao xót thương chúng ta Xin mưa gió sớm tan đi để tháng năm thôi muộn phiền Cho đôi chim cất vang tiếng ca êm đềm từng chiều. Hoa nhớ ai hoa buồn héo hon khi con gió xuân sang Em nhớ ai trái tim em buồn một mình Mưa nhớ ai mưa buồn hắt hiu rơi rơi mãi không thôi Em nhớ anh mắt em vương lệ nhạt nhòa..

Trinh Hoi, Ky Duyen Boycotted & Asia Show Protested!

image taken from vietshowbiz.com Trinh Hoi (who is famous for his many years fighting for refugees in Philippines and recent co-host for Asia Entertainment) along with his wife Nguyen Cao Ky Duyen (a famous co-host at Thuy Nga Paris By Night and daughter of Nguyen Cao Ky who was a prime minister, vice president and general of Vietnam) was asked to host a show in Sydney, Australia. The two along with many other well-known singers in the U.S.A and some singers in Vietnam all signed on to take part in the event. Sadly a group of people in the Vietnamese community in Sydney upon hearing the news immediately disapproved and straight up boycotted Trinh Hoi and Ky Duyen and called them out as traitors because they agree to make business with the communists. The show was immediately canceled due the fact that the show’s creator and many others were afraid of a violent protesting from the Vietnamese community in Sydney. But at that time Trinh Hoi, Ky Duyen and many other singers had already
