Nhu Quynh’s real name is actually Quynh Nhu; she is one of the top Vietnamese singers in the U.S. Nhu Quynh first made her debut in 1994 singing the well known song “Nguoi Tinh Mua Dong” in Asia Entertainment Christmas Special, Dem Saigon 5. Since then, she became a household name due to her beautiful voice and pretty appearance. It is safe to say that Nhu Quynh made a name for herself in the Vietnamese showbiz and hold the heart of many adoring fans. Nhu Quynh was seen as the innocent girl wearing a white traditional Vietnamese long dress with silky long black hair. But oh how the time has changed and people soon forgot the past.
Life as a famous singer wasn’t always smooth for Nhu Quynh. Her earliest confrontation was the lawsuit battle with Asia Entertainment in which she won. Later on there were rumor relationships with a lawyer and with an office candidate Andy Quach (not Andy Quach the singer). However, none of that hit Nhu Quynh the hardest until the news of pregnancy broke out. It then became a bittersweet story for the singer.

We see Nhu Quynh on television and it seems like everyday, but for her the moment is just a small part of her day. She has a life behind the curtains that we do not know about and we shouldn’t because it is not our business. If we love music and we love Nhu Quynh we should focus only on her voice and when she’s singing for us and not judge her on her personal life. But no one can do so, simple because audiences are always curious of the artist’s personal life; thus the reason there are magazines like Van Nghe Magazine. It also gives reporters their job. Everyone wants to hear of the nasty things, the bad things and not the happy things because it is interesting news. We want drama; we want conflict and so forth.
Nhu Quynh’s pregnancy news spread through out newspapers, magazines, and online forums. It was said that Nhu Quynh held a small gathering to announce her pregnancy and shared her happiness with friends and family. But the question soon arise, “Who is the father?” We are living in a modern period where things are supposed to be less traditional and people are open minded but that is never the case. Although Nhu Quynh is not a single mom, people will assume she is and anyone who doesn't have a husband or is marry and have children. She doesn’t want to reveal the name of the baby’s father. And so that bothered a lot of people who started to call her names and talk bad things about her on the newspapers, magazines and the typical he said she said.
If you read the newspapers and magazines, there were many “dirty” reporters who bashed Nhu Quynh, claiming that she committed a sin of some sort because she was with many men. Furthermore they said that after the break up with Andy Quach not long ago, she’s now pregnant. How could that be in just a short time, unless? You can imagine all the kind of news that was fabricated to create a juicy story on the well-known singer’s pregnancy. I don’t have evident or anything to say that the most of the published articles were false, but as a reader I know that I cannot believe in everything I read. The media makes a living of off half true, half false stories and most of the time made up just to get our attention and to sell their stuff. Base on that it is a definite warning for many people to not believe everything they read. Indeed I am defending Nhu Quynh just because I believed she deserves better. Her occupation is a tough one no matter what. (Read more on the struggles of Viet artists in my upcoming post). Sadly, some people believe everything they read. Even some of Nhu Quynh’s fans showed their disgust and shock to the news like it is some sort of major crisis. Instead of congratulating her on her first child, people are mocking and questioning her of her personal life. I can understand that it is in people’s beliefs to be against pregnancy before marriage (or simple sex) but please don’t be shock like it’s not a common thing in today’s world. Society is changing and women have more options now compared to the past; it is the decision of the woman that we should respect. Part of the reason why Nhu Quynh received so much heat for her pregnancy is because a part of our society and society around the world in general are still very narrow-minded and discriminatory toward women and their rights compared to men.

Reported on Mautam.org that Nhu Quynh gave birth to a baby girl in February of 2007 name Melody Đông Nghi. Mẹ tròn con vuông. Nhu Quynh is excited to be mom because it is something she always wanted. I want to congratulate and wish her the best of happiness. NQ was back on stage and singing soon after the birth of her first child. She is happy than ever. I leave you with a quote from a fan.
“I'm so proud of Nhu Quynh and her pregnancy! She's one true diva and the role model for the women of the new century. I believe it will help her to grew stronger as an artist.”

Just for clarification, she is NOT a single mom.
Ok then, she IS a single mom =)
Thanks.
The general suggestion of protecting him from the public eyes doesn't sit right in this case. Like all other celebrities in the showbiz bussiness, she should have known, she can't keep her personal life out of the publics. Isn't it simply "the rule of the game?"
Clap hands to the family of Bang Kieu & Trizzie Phuong Trinh as they seem to handle their personal and showbiz life well
Ms Netress.
A guy sexually active = stud.
Double standard. And quite sad.
A woman have a child without marriage = bad bad bad.
A man have a child without marriage = who cares?
This world is so wrong. If the Viet media really want to attach and target infidelity or adultery or "sinful" behavior - look to the VK that goes oversea to have sex with the girls back home. Our Viet society is male dominated and target women when something happens but never the guy. Sad part of our culture.
but yeah...she shouldnt b hated on just cuz she got a kid. its her right. but then its others pplz right to hate on her, even if its for no reasons, its still a right. but then its also her right to ignore those haters. w/e

its NOT double standard. Its reality. Guys have nothing to lose. Girls do. Guys dont physically lose their virginity, girls do. There has to be double standard. Why do you think we have separate bathrooms for men and women. If there is no double standard, men and women would share the same public bathroom already. Sometimes reality sucks but that's life.
Bad guy put NQ at the corner is called a man????????????????
