Vietnam to Host Miss World 2010




















After the recent host of Miss Universe 2008, Vietnam will once again be the host of another pageant show, the 60th annual Miss World 2010, the oldest surviving major international pageant. Also it will be the 60th anniversary for the show. From June 28 to July 9, 2008, Miss World 2007 Zhang Zi Lin along with Miss World Organization Chairwoman Julia Morley surveyed Vietnam in a ten day visit to many provinces including Hà Nội, HCM City, and Quảng Ninh. Many charity events were carry out in Sóc Sơn district, Hà Nội, Củ Chi district, HCM City and Tiền Giang were Miss World 2007 Zhang Zi Lin helped out poor students, needy people, and pay a visit to the HCM City HIV/AIDS Control Center. Chairwoman Julia Morley spoke that she was impressed with the beauty and warm sentiments of Vietnamese people.




















On July 9th, an agreement ceremony to secure Vietnam as the official host of Miss World 2010 took place at the Sheraton Saigon Hotel between RAAS Group and Miss World Organization’s Chairwoman and President Julia Morley, where RAAS CEO Hoàng Kiều represented Vietnam in signing the agreement. During the ceremony, CEO Hoàng Kiều donated many large sum of money to charity events in Vietnam and also to the victims of the recent earthquake in China. Vietnam Airlines will become the official carrier for Miss World 2010. The future pageant show will be held in Nha Trang, Khánh Hòa province, which currently hosts the Miss Universe 2008 competition. In organizing for this event; Vietnam has to pay at least $10 million.

Gee - so Vietnam can introduce themselves to the world as a place for cheap labor and opportunities for Walmart to come to Vietnam instead of China. I hope Vietnam won't be another China. But Nike has already has it's hand in the cookie jar paying people there 50cent for a pair of sneakers that they will charge 200 for.

I just came from Vietnam working on the Miss Universe Pageant and Vietnam is a fantastic place to have such a widely viewed event such as the Miss Universe and Miss World and even the Miss Earth Pageants. I hope to work again in Vietnam with another one of these companies.

I am sure Anonymous would rather the people of Vietnam starve to death rather than make Nikes. That would make him feel much better. Having spent a part of every year for the last 10 years, I know for fact, this is a very good thing for Vietnam. They have been at war with invaders for hundreds of years. This is Vietnam's time. And I am proud of them. I love Vietnam and the Vietnamese people.

Remembering Minh Tri & Viet Thi

They were a cute couple on Vân Sơn Entertainment show and also off stage as well. After courtship, Minh Trí and Việt Thi married and had two daughters.
