The Rebel - Dòng Máu Anh Hùng

"Sometimes the greatest battle is the batte of hearts"

"1920s. Vietnam under colonial French ruling. Anti-French rebellions emerge all over the country to disrupt the foreign occupiers. In respond, the colonialist employed units of Vietnamese agents to track and destroy these rebels. The film follows the journey of LE VAN CUONG, a French cultured undercover elite. Although branded with a perfect track record, Cuong's inner conscience is troubled by the sea of Vietnamese blood he had spilled to uphold a French washed ideal. Following an assassination of a high ranking French, Cuong is assigned to seek and kill the notorious leader of the resistance. Cuong encounters VO THANH THUY, a relentless revolutionary fighter and the daughter of the rebel leader. Cuong's superior intends for him to use Thuy as a mean to get to her father but Cuong soon has feelings for her. Thuy's patriotism ignites conflicts between Cuong's consciousness and his cultured faith. Will Cuong discover his inner-self and find love or will he continue his mission? The journey unfolds..."

My Thoughts:
I didn’t see this movie yet or any of the recent release Vietnamese movies because they are limited release and so I’m waiting for it to be on DVD. The reason I want to see the movie like I said earlier when I posted Saigon Eclipse that I wanted to support the Vietnamese movie industry in America. As for this movie, I think it will be good because it is historical base and lots of drama and stuff. I also heard that a lot of money was put into making this movie, so I hope it does well. Check out other films, Saigon Eclipse, Saigon Love Story, Derailed Heart, Journey From The Fall and The Spirits.

The movie is not that good. It's alright at best. The acting was so-so. Dustin has a scene where he cried which made no sense at all. A bad ass cried because he couldnt get his job done? That's a pussy. As for the fighting, there were to many 360 round house mid air kicks. I know it's Vo Binh Dinh, VINA martial art, and stuffs, but it's over done.
Overall, the movie just isnt that good.

Good effort from the filmmakers. Ok movie, good fighting. Ngo Thanh Van has a strong presence and great skills. Johnny Nguyen must have spent lots of time training her personally and...intimately, which explains why they ended up in bed and Johnny Nguyen divorced his wife.

Anyone who hasn't seen the film should check it out. You can watch some of the great fights here:

Oh and I agree with Dude, Johnny uses way too much spinning kicks, which sometimes seem inapproriate to the circumstances. Other than that, the fights are spectacular.

agreed. this movie was ok (in terms of acting and plot), but a good effort! so they get points for that.

the fight scenes were pretty cool but at times i was thinking omfg you're going to get shot right now. they left so many openings in the fights. i know they wouldn't get shot, they're the main characters! but still, that bothered me a bit.

i say watch it, but i wouldn't say this is the best. although i'm hoping from this point the movies will get better.

NTV her fighting skill sucks. Too weak she needs to work harder on her fight skills.

Remembering Minh Tri & Viet Thi

They were a cute couple on Vân Sơn Entertainment show and also off stage as well. After courtship, Minh Trí and Việt Thi married and had two daughters. However in 2007, it seems that the two separated after Minh Trí (AKA Johnny Trí Nguyen) kicked off his career by starring in The Rebel - Dòng Máu Anh Hùng costarring Ngô Thanh Vân (AKA Veronica Ngo). Ever since, a new couple emerges that has people talking whether Ngô Thanh Vân is the third person or that the fame is the cause to the destruction of Minh Trí & Việt Thi. Whatever the reasons are, viewers are truly sad and miss the cute couple that once appeared on Vân Sơn's stage. Below are pictures, a list of songs performed by Minh Trí & Việt Thi and other tidbits. Lynda & Tommy: Son's Birthday

Tommy Ngô & Lynda Trang Đài son's name is Neo Bảo Ngô born in 2004. He is 4 this year. Take a look at the photos below. By the way, it is nice to see that the birthday is not too fancy, and seems to be very down to earth, relaxing. A younger looking Neo on his earlier birthday. Who do you think he looks more like, his mom, dad or a mixture of both?
